The waiting’s over…CD launch and national tour are finally here!Mae’r disgwyl ar ben… mae lansiad y CD a’r daith genedlaethol ar fin digwydd!

CD cover 900px wSo it turns out CD launches and national tours are like buses, you wait ages for one then two come along at the same time!

I am of course talking about the very exciting news that Ensemble Cymru’s national tour of ‘Pedr a’r Blaidd’ sets off on Monday and the CD of the same name will launch on 1 March 2014.

First play on Radio Cymru

For any Radio Cymru listeners, you may have heard the CD get its first public broadcast this week when John Hardy played an exclusive clip on his show and spoke to Peryn Clement-Evans about the tour. Listen again now, skip to 1:44 into the show.

Ensemble Cymru on tour

If you’re coming along to see the show on tour at Llandudno, Pwllheli, Cardigan or Cardiff then you’ll be able to get your hands on a copy after the show – there’s an exclusive tour price for the CD so you’ll pay just £6. If you can’t make it to the shows next week, then you can always buy your copy online at www.pedr.org for £8.

The countdown is well and truly on with less than three weeks to go until the curtain goes up on ‘Pedr a’r Blaidd’ (Peter and the Wolf) the national tour.

Peter and the Wolf receives its TV debutPedr a’r Blaidd ar y teledu am y tro cyntaf

Ensemble CymruThe enchanting story of Peter and the Wolf was brought to television screens over Christmas thanks to Ensemble Cymru. Children and adults across Wales tuned into S4C on Christmas Day to see Prokofiev’s Pedr a’r Blaidd (Peter and the Wolf) with music performed by Ensemble Cymru’s 30-piece orchestra and the story narrated by Welsh actor, Rhys Ifans.

If you were too busy finishing off your turkey sandwich and missed the programme, don’t panic! There’s another chance to watch online, follow this link to see Pedr A’r Blaidd on S4C.

Watching again online is all well and good, but nothing beats being in the audience, right?! Well as luck would have it Pedr a’r Blaidd is embarking on its national tour in March. Tickets are on sale at the venues, take a look at the tour schedule to find out when the show is coming to a town near you.
