Violin: Jean Paterson

Jean was born in north Pembrokeshire into a farming family, moving later to Hampshire, but now lives in Oxford.  She studied the violin with Emanuel Hurwitz at St. Hugh’s College, Oxford, and with Manoug Parikian at the Royal Academy of Music.

She later took up the baroque violin with Micaela Comberti, and now plays with period instrument ensembles in Britain, including  Oxford’s new period instrument orchestra, Instruments of Time and Truth.

#In addition to her playing career, she is an active teacher. Her private passion is walking the National Trails of the British Isles.
