We\u2019re throwing one of the biggest celebrations of chamber music in Wales, an annual festival which we call\u00a0ChamberFest. And the theme for the 2015 event will be the music of J.S. Bach, with the main event taking place on March 20th and\u00a021st<\/sup> – the 21st<\/sup> March would have been Bach\u2019s birthday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The good news is, this event isn\u2019t exclusive, in fact \u2013 quite the opposite! We\u2019re actively seeking individuals, community groups, music organisations, bands, schools and workplaces in the Llandudno and Bangor area to join forces with Ensemble Cymru to take ChamberFest to the next level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is by means a definitive list of ideas, but it may give you some inspiration for events or activities that you\u2019d like to take part in as part of the ChamberFest, take a look\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Ideas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
  1. Conwy Staff Choir to sing Jesu Joy of Man\u2019s Desiring<\/em> by Bach for people in hospices, hospitals and residential homes<\/li>
  2. Youth group popping up all over Llandudno singing Bach\u2019s Badinerie<\/em><\/li>
  3. Simplified Bach being performed by primary school cellists at Venue Cymru<\/li>
  4. Performances of Bach\u2019s 48 Preludes and Fugues<\/em> on Pianos in various locations dotted around Llandudno and Bangor<\/li>
  5. A performance of Bach\u2019s Trio Sonatas<\/em> for Organ in churches<\/li>
  6. Performances of Bach\u2019s Cello Suites by multiple cellists<\/li>
  7. Flashmob Bach \u2013 impromptu performance with multiple players in a public place<\/li>
  8. Scribblers Bach \u2013 opportunities for young (or old) Bach\u2019s of the 21st<\/sup> Century to get their music played<\/li>
  9. Music Teachers playing impromptu Bach with Ensemble Cymru musicians at school assemblies<\/li>
  10. Steps Bach \u2013 Dalcroze Eurhythmics workshop for children using the music of Bach<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    To turn the plans for the ChamberFest into a reality we need to raise some money, which is where the Big Give comes in. The Big Give is a match funding scheme so money that is donated to Ensemble Cymru via the Big Give website on December 4th, 5th and 6th will be matched \u00a31 for \u00a31 \u2013 doubling your donation!
