Waking up to an almighty thunder storm on Saturday morning, I was slightly concerned that the weather may put off our audience \u2013 it sounded pretty scary out there! However I needn\u2019t have worried as just before 10am, a flurry of parents and children flooded into Pwllheli\u2019s Neuadd Dwyfor on Saturday for a morning of musical fun.<\/p>\n

The workshop, led by Sioned Roberts with musical assistance from Katerina Maresova, aimed to introduce young children to the wonder of music through song, listening and play. Katerina Said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI really enjoyed taking part in today\u2019s workshop – it was so rewarding to see the children interacting with the music.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

We arrived early, armed with streamers, balloons and cuddly toys, ready to decorate the hall and make the space colourful and exciting before the first children arrived. When they did, families were invited to take a space on the floor and the children were provided with little props (scarves, toys and balls) so that they could dance and play to the music. Sioned led the group through a musical journey, starting with the Hello Song, which was a great way of getting the little ones engaged with the music from the very beginning.<\/p>\n

Si\u00f4n, an ATM student for Ensemble Cymru, said:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was great to se\"totse the children so involved in the music and enjoying every minute. I\u2019d say my favourite part was the bubble song, I\u2019m a grown-up but even I thought that was pretty magical!\u201d
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

The families seemed to love our music morning as well and there were positive responses all around! Some of the parents commented that there is a lack of events for this age group (0-3) in the local area. With that in mind, we hope to be able to put on more Tots Music Mornings in the future!<\/p>\n
