The coffee morning was organised by the Bangor based classical music charity, Ensemble Cymru, to raise money for its ChamberFest music event planned for March 2015. The charity was chosen to take part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge, a match funding scheme which doubles donations made at the beginning of December while funds are available.

The streets will be alive with the sounds of Bach’s music! That’s the plan at least for North Wales based chamber music group, Ensemble Cymru; if they are able to raise enough funds from their upcoming Big Give Christmas fundraising campaign which launches at Venue Cymru on 4 December.
The classical music organisation plans to throw the biggest celebration of chamber music in Wales next March, and you’re all invited! And the theme of the ChamberFest event for 2015 will be the music of J.S. Bach; with the celebrations reaching a climax on March 21st, which would have been Bach’s Birthday. And the project has already won the backing of two major North Wales based arts venues, Pontio and Venue Cymru.
Ensemble Cymru are delighted to have been given generous pledges totalling £3800.
What’s next? The next stage in the challenge is the donation phase which begins Thursday 4th December.
What does this mean? During this phase (from Thursday 4th December, 10am), when a donation is made, 75% of it will be matched from the pledge, the remainder coming from the charity champion fund. This is an exciting time to donate as you can witness your donation make a bigger impact on Ensemble Cymru as it doubles!
