We wanted to include this as a tribute to a wonderfully
kind and generous individual who made such a lasting
and significant contribution to classical music in Wales for
children, for adults, musicians and audiences. Thank you

This programme features the clarinet in a selection of music ranging from 18th century to the Klezmer (Jewish music) influenced music of Golijov.

• Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet is one of the great master works of chamber music ever written. Mozart lived in the 18th century.
• Nino Rota (1911-1979) wrote the music for the 1974 film the Godfather Part 2 which won an Academy award – music is filmic and lyrical / tuneful
• Golijov’s music is influenced by Klezmer music (Jewish music). Golijov is from Argentina of Jewish Romanian parents.
• Hilary Tann is a Welsh composer living and working in United States of America
