Born in London, Jonathan read music at Bristol University and later studied conducting with George Hurst. He is Music Director of Opera Project which he co-founded in 1993 and has conducted extensively across a range of UK summer opera festivals including Longborough Festival Opera, West Green House Opera and Iford Opera.

Richard Ormrod grew up in Cardiff and made his first concerto appearance at the age of 10 playing Mozart with the South Glamorgan Youth Orchestra before going on to study at Wells Cathedral School with Michael Young, and at King’s College, Cambridge, where he completed his MA.
