The National Tour 2014
This spring, Ensemble Cymru’s 30-piece orchestra brought this much loved children’s classic to life live on stage. For the very first time the story of Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf was told in Welsh, narrated by Rhys Ifans. A series of Pedr and Dona promo image small beautiful screen images, created by children’s illustrator Marc Vyvyan Jones, featured in the show bringing another dimension to this exciting re-telling of this magical tale. Before the curtain went up, S4C star Donna Direidi joined the musicians on stage to learn about the orchestra, getting the audinece to join in and sing along as she explored the different beats and sounds that an orchestra makes.
